WHITEHEAD, Valerie Marie “Ruffnuts” — age 50, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on May 21, 1961, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Marlene Vandertoorn, New Minas and the late Arthur Whitehead. Besides her mother, Marlene; she is survived by her common law husband, Douglas Siler; her sons, Harry Dill, Windsor; Billy Farrow, Windsor; brother, Arthur Whitehead, Windsor; sisters, Sandra Burbidge, Windsor; Debbie Vanderveil, Amherst; Sandra (Barrie) MacPhee, Windsor; Darlene Lutz (Mark Lake), Windsor; Mary (Owen) Leopold, New Ross; Karine (David) Slaunwhite, Windsor; Elizabeth Nelson (Kenny Berringer) Newport Station; Tammy Whitehead (Kevin Dimock), Windsor; brother-in-law, Donnie Nelson (Paula Berringer), Ellershouse; granddaughter, Tanaya Keddy, Windsor; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur; and a nephew, Nathan Whitehead. Visitation was 7-9 p.m. Sunday, August 7, in Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday, August 8, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, The Rev. Deborah Ripley-Carter officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre. Cremation followed and interment was in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011.
