Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin, NL, on Thursday, Aug. 11th, 2011, JOSIAH HODDER, of Rock Harbour, NL, in his 89th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Jessie, sons Calvin, Marystown, John (Shirley), Marystown, Albert (Ella), Rock Harbour, Daughters Evelyn Melendy (Nowell), Seal Cove, Frances Farewell, Creston South, Nora Stacey (Alfred), Mississauga, ON, Barbara Follett (Roy), St. John’s, Pauline Mallay (Michael), Marystown, Sharon Hillier (Wayne), St. John’s, daughters in law Violet Hodder, Rock Harbour, Geraldine Hodder, Portugal Cove; 21 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren; sisters Isabel Farewell, Creston South, Sarah Hodder, North Harbour; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Josiah is predeceased by his parents John Thomas and Charlotte Hodder, sons Sam and Eugene and infant son Albert, granddaughter Shelley Farewell, son in law Harvey Farewell, sisters Selena and Bridget and brother Sam. Rev. Robert Peddle conducted the Funeral Service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Rock Harbour on Saturday, August 13th; at 2:00 pm. Interment was at the Anglican Church Cemetery in Rock Harbour. In Josiah’s memory, donations may be made to the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Rock Harbour, NL.
