WOSSIDLO, MARIA "MIA" - Maria Petra (Heynen) Wossidlo "Mia", 86, of Granby, QC passed away quietly in her sleep on August 17th morning at Marie-Beth Couture Residence. Born on March 26th, 1925 in Pey-Echt, Limburg, the Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Tina Heynen. Mia was the loving wife of the late Horst Wilhelm Wossidlo. Mia leaves behind her children: Ruth (Normand) Bradford (Hillsborough, NB); Richard (France) Wossidlo (Granby, QC) Linda Wossidlo (Lachine QC), Steven (Sue) Wossidlo (Cornelius, Or. USA), MaryAnn (Dr. Lawrence) Gilchrist (Nun’s Island, QC), Ernest Wossidlo (Granby, QC) and Michael (died as a baby); her Grand-children: Christina Bradford (Luc), Stephanie Bradford (Eric), and Eric Bradford (Nathalie), Tiffany Gilchrist, Sabrina Gilchrist, Kevin Wossidlo, Kenny Wossidlo, Melissa Barr, Jason Barr; her great-grandchildren: Laura and Christian Tessier, Yannick and Chloe Lafontaine, and Gregory Bradford and her many nieces and nephews (Mia’s was predeceased by her three brothers and her sister Tini). Mia believed that “cleanliness was next to godliness” and lived by this. She loved to visit family and friends; she enjoyed: the outdoors, long walks, reading, traveling, cooking (her rabbit stew and rolladens were delightful!), shopping sprees, entertaining family and friends, going to church; Mia was appreciative of the simple pleasures of life. She will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank Ernest Wossidlo for his daily loving care of Mom and the staff at Marie Beth Couture for their excellent care given to Mia during her long illness.
No visitation by personal request. An intimate memorial service will take place at Girardot & Menard Funeral Home 470 Rue Dufferin, Granby, QC J2G 9G2, on Friday, August 19th, from 9:30 to 11:30 AM.
