Barbara Frances Hoskin
1932 - 2024
C'est avec le cœur lourd que nous vous annonçons le décès paisible de notre bien-aimée mère, Barbara Frances Hoskin (née Stowe), à l'âge de 91 ans, entourée de ses enfants dans le confort de sa maison de Farnham, Québec, le 11 mars 2024.
Barbara est née à Sweetsburg, qui fait maintenant partie de Cowansville, le 12 mars 1932. Elle était la fille de Gwendolyn et Herman Stowe. Elle a rencontré son époux bien-aimé Norman (décédé) depuis plus de 60 ans grâce à ses fonctions d'infirmière et a aimé soigner les patients et particulièrement les bébés à l'hôpital Brome-Missisquoi Perkins pendant de nombreuses années. Elle manquera beaucoup à ses enfants David (Eva), Brian, Wendy et Mary, ses sœurs Anita et Patricia, son frère Robert (Pauline) ainsi que plusieurs cousins, neveux et nièces.

Un service pour célébrer et honorer la vie de Barbara a eu lieu en l'église St. James Anglican de Bedford, 40 rue du Pont, le samedi 16 mars 2024, à 13 h. L'inhumation a suivi au cimetière Kirkwood, Farnham, QC.

Joignez-vous à nous pour une réception incluant un repas chaud au Centre de Santé Euro-spa, 455 Rang de l'Église S., St-Ignance-de-Stanbridge, à compter de 15 h 30.

La famille désire exprimer sa gratitude aux préposés aux soins personnels — Theresa, Céline, Alex et Manon — pour leur compassion et leur dévouement. Des remerciements particuliers vont également au docteur Barbeau et aux infirmières Marie-France et Lynn pour leur gentillesse et leurs soins.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly loved mother, Barbara Frances Hoskin (nee Stowe), at age 91, surrounded by her children in the comfort of her home in Farnham, Quebec on March 11, 2024.
Barbara was born in Sweetsburg, which is now a part of Cowansville, on March 12, 1932. She was the daughter of Gwendolyn and Herman Stowe. She met her darling husband, Norman (predeceased) of more than 60 years through her nursing duties and enjoyed caring for patients and especially babies at the Brome-Missisquoi Perkins hospital for many years. She will be greatly missed by her children David (Eva), Brian, Wendy, and Mary, her sisters, Anita and Patricia, her brother Robert (Pauline), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate and honor Barbara's life was held at St. James Anglican Church in Bedford, 40 rue du Pont, on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1 p.m. Interment followed in Kirkwood Cemetery, Farnham, QC.

Please join us for a reception including a hot meal at the Centre de Santé Euro-spa, 455 Rang de l’Église S., St-Ignance-de-Stanbridge, starting at 3:30 p.m.

The family expresses their gratitude to the personal care workers—Theresa, Celine, Alex, and Manon—for their compassion and dedication. Special thanks also go to Doctor Barbeau and nurses Marie-France and Lynn for their kindness and care.
