ROBICHEAU, HUBERT - Hubert “Hugh” Robicheau, 72, of Meteghan Centre. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Hugh Robicheau in Yarmouth Regional Hospital following a battle with lung cancer. Born August 29th, 1938 in Meteghan, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Leo and Stella Robichaud. Hugh joined the RCMP in 1959 and served 33 years of service in New Brunswick. Hugh retired as Superintendant of Criminal Operations of “J” Division of New Brunswick. Hugh was a long time member of the N.B. Vets association and was instrumental in helping to develop the N.B. Vets constitutional by laws. Hugh received the most joy out of spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed being active, he loved to golf, curl, bike, walk, cross country ski and getting together to sing songs with his sisters and friends. Hugh was predeceased by his brothers; Normand(Clara); Medric(Yvonne) both of Meteghan. He is survived by his sisters Mariette Comeau of Meteghan; Fedora (Louis) Deveau of Dartmouth; Lucilla (Frank) O’Connell Ottawa; Jeanne (Ned) Nash, Chester. His wife Kay (Barry); daughters Laurie-Anne (Rob) Rankin Dartmouth; Shelly (Tony) MacKinnon, Fredericton; Susie, Saint John; sons Jean-Paul (Bridgette) Dartmouth; Chris (Dave), Moncton. His grandchildren Grace, Madeline, Ryan and Laura, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at the Meteghan Funeral Home August 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20th at Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank the VON and Dr. Shelagh Leahey and the nursing staff of 4 South at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the VON.
