LEBLANC, Dr. Joseph Eloi – 84, of Yarmouth, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born October 2, 1926, in Wedgeport, he was the son of the late Capt. Eloi and Laurianne LeBlanc. He attended Collège Sainte-Anne and Université de Montréal. He practiced dentistry in Yarmouth for 35 years. He was a member of the Yarmouth Curling Club and curled until the age of 82. He enjoyed his summers at his camp, gardening, boating and relaxing. He is survived by wife, Anne (Clements); children, Phillip (Joanne) LeBlanc, Yarmouth; Lorie (Mickey) Stewart, Yarmouth; Joanne (Andrew) LeFrank, Timberlea; as well as his grandchildren, Joey, Elise, Michael, Scott, Abbey and Drew; brother, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc, Pubnico. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Ona (Pothier) and Iva; brother, Chester. Visitation took place on Tuesday, August 16 from 7-9 p.m. at Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, 567 Main St., Yarmouth, with prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral mass took place on Wednesday, August 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Cathedral, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery, Wedgeport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lodge That Gives, St. Michael’s Cemetery Fund or Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
