John Charles Pittman, 53 of Park Street, Stellarton, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at home.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick, he was a son of Ann (McCormack) Pittman and the late Ernest Walter Pittman.
He was a resident of Stellarton for the past four years having previously resided in New Glasgow.
He was employed at the New Glasgow Police Department as a dispatcher with the Corps of Commissionaires.
He is survived by his mother, the former Ann McCormack, New Glasgow; a brother Vernon (Jo-Anne), Westville; a sister Linda (John) Anderson, New Glasgow; nephews, John Walter (Shelley) Pittman, Jason Andrew (Amanda) Pittman, Charles Aaron Wood; and a niece, Tammy Elizabeth (Woods) Adams; several great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernest Walter Pittman.
Cremation to take place. There will be no visitation or services at the request of the family. A private committal service will be held in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Donations in memory of John may be made to the Pictou County SPCA.
Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
