John Robert MacLeod, formerly of South Bar passed away Thursday Aug. 18, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a lengthly illness.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Capt. David and Catherine (Huntley) MacLeod.
He worked for many years in the western provinces before returning home. In his younger years he was very interested in sports and was a trainer for many of Sydney’s hockey teams.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Margaret ‘Peggy’ MacLeod.
He is survived by brothers, David (Elsie) and Claude (Lenora) MacLeod. John is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private service will be held for the family.
