SYDNEY – Isabel Power, 85, passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, on Friday, October 2, 2009.
Born in New Glasgow to the late Hugh John and Lauretta (Fogarty) MacLean.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Montague Power of Antigonish County, mother of Gail, Douglas (Beverly), Jack (Linda), Ron (Mary), Ken (Anne), Edward (Maureen), Martin (Susan). Grandmother to Siobhan, Darren, Kevin, Ainsley, Courtney, Johnathon, Katey and Colin. Survived by brothers and sisters: Jack (Pat), Kathleen (Jim) MacDonald, Donald (Viola), Marion Collins, Robert (Laura), Harvey, Elizabeth (Rod) Flavin, David (Darla) and sister-in-law Doris MacLean. Happy memories of friends: Betty (MacDougall) MacDonald, Rita Madore, Christine Bonaparte, Marie Power, David MacDonald, Lesley and David Donaghan and Rose MacIsaac (deceased).
Predeceased by brother Joe and brother-in-law Frank Collins.
A passionate fan of baseball, hockey and the Liberal Party, Isabel’s house on Fairview Street was always a centre of neighbourhood activity.
Visitation for Isabel Power will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 12-1:30 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel with funeral mass to be celebrated at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Private internment.
