Trenton - Joseph Matthew “Buddy” MacKay, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at home after a brief illness with his family by his side at the age of 71.
Born August 6, 1940, in Stellarton, he was a son of the late Arthur and Alice (Dwyer) MacKay. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and worked 41 years at Trenton Works. He will be sadly missed by all his grandchildren whom he had a great relationship with.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Josephine “Betsy” (Murphy) MacKay; daughter: Alice (Jim) Fortune; son: Matthew (Jodi) MacKay; daughter: Susan (David) Falcitelli; grandchildren: Melissa and Jimmy Fortune; Maggie, Rebecca and Dylan MacKay; Taylor and Nicholas Falcitelli; sisters: Karen Burns; Cavell Michaud and Donna Huggan. Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter Nora in infancy, grandson Matthew MacKay, brothers: Arthur and Ronald and sister Mary.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services by request of the deceased. Donations may be made in memory of “Buddy” to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H. Porter Funeral Home Trenton. Condolences at: www.rhporter.ca
