(June 13th, 1929 – August 19th, 2011) — Sadly we announce the passing of a husband, father and grandfather. Joseph Anthony Ryan, in his 83rd year, passed peacefully away on August 19th at St. John’s. Predeceased by his parents Patrick Ryan and Bridget Ryan (Kerrivan), his brother John and sister Mary (Woodrow). Leaving to celebrate his life are his wife Mary (Tracey); daughter Mary Louise and sons; Patrick (Martha Walsh), Peter (Pauline Maloney), Tony, Terrence (Sherida McLeod) and Desmond (Colleen O’Leary), grandchildren; Jody, Victoria, Andrea & Philip (Patrick), Christopher, Michael & Nicholas (Peter), Timothy & Samantha (Tony), Emily, Stephen & Erin (Terrence), Hudson (Desmond). Also leaving to mourn are his sisters Gertrude Tracey, Kay Watson and Marie Maloney (Bill) and a large number of nieces, nephews, and extended members of the Ryan and Kerrivan families. He returned to Southern Bay on Sunday, August 21st for visitation at Holy Family Church. He is resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation 7-9 pm on Monday, August 22nd and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23rd. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 24th from St. Teresa’s Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Holy Family Church, Southern Bay.
