Lawrence Legere
LEGERE, LAWRENCE HENRY - Lawrence Henry “Larry” Legere passed away on August 22, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born September of 1943 in Amherst, NS to the late Lawrence and Josephine (Langille) Legere. He spent most of his younger years in Maccan, NS. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Rosemary (Ferris) Legere; sons Roger (Michelle) of Kingston, Marc (Crystal) of Barnsville; daughters Angela Spragg (Phillip) and Sandra Whelam (Stephen) both of Saint John; brothers, Alfred and James (Jeannine) both of Saint John; sisters Francis Hunter (Bill) of Winnipeg, Carol Knudson of Saint John and Lorilee Hall (Ross) of Musquash; nine grandchildren Colin, Aaron, Jonas, Jessica, Cortney, Shelby, Brittany, Nicola and Ashley; two precious great grandchildren Jaycee and Jaelyn, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, several nieces, nephews, friends and special friend and brother-in-law Ken Levy of Kentville, NS. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Larry was a long time member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 213 and taught pipefitting at NBCC. In earlier years he served in the Air Force in Trenton, ON. Larry was a past president of the RCAF Wing Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8364, he was a fourth degree Knight serving as Grand Knight and District Deputy, past member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #002 and Vice President of the Saint John Minor Hockey Association. Larry’s greatest joys were spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading, watching TV, old cars and spending time with his pets especially his cat Jake.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held from Fundy Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church.
