Walter "Bob" Ketchum
KETCHUM, WALTER “BOB” FRANCIS - The death of Bob Ketchum of Hampton, formerly of Hammond River, occurred Saturday, August 20th, 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Quispamsis, on June 29th, 1921, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (McLaughlin) Ketchum. A veteran of Canada’s army, Bob served overseas during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an electrician and also spent time farming. Bob is survived by three sisters, Betty Spear (Charles) of Saint John, Sister Rose Ketchum of Saskatchewan and Eileen Stanton (Esmond) of Virginia; as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four sisters and five brothers.
Resting at Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, (506) 832-5541, with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 PM followed by Vigil Prayers at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 22 Church Street, Hampton, on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 1032 Main Street, Hampton.
