We regret to announce the passing of William R. ‘Russell’ Bradley, 74, on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on Aug. 14, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel Bradley. He worked for the Cape Breton Development Corporation for 27 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Catherine (Forrest) Bradley, also known as Kayser; two loving daughters, Ann and Blenda; sons, David (Noreen), Russell (Melinda), John (Del) and George (Tammy); 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha, Honey, Meta and Anna and brothers, Bernard and Robert, all whom he loved dearly. He will also be sadly missed by his best friends, Brian Mills and Lloyd Harris.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, David and Charles.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Carman United Church, Clyde Avenue, Sydney Mines, with Rev. David Luker officiating.
No flowers at the family’s request, in lieu of flowers donations in William R. Bradleys’ memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
