83, of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill.
Born in Fox Point, he was a son of the late James R. and Vivian (Allen) Graham. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders.
Jack was a graduate of Dalhousie University graduating with a B.Sc. and Education. He was supervisor of schools in Parrsboro for 26 years, retiring in 1983. He was very active in his community having served in numerous capacities for many organizations. He enjoyed watching baseball, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, the former Naomi Lovatt; daughter, Ann Francis (Rory), Charlottetown; son, Gordon (Stephanie), Lunenburg; a sister, Jean Thorpe (Bill), Dartmouth; a brother, Robert (Chris), Parksville, B.C.; six grandchildren, Adam Francis, Toronto; Graeme Francis, Austin, TX, and Carmen Francis, Ottawa; Jocelyn, Shannon and Robin Graham, all of Lunenburg. He was predeceased by sisters, Ruth, Rae, Helen and Eleanor; brothers, Harleigh, Charles in infancy.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
