Leota Forbes-Hill
FORBES-HILL, LEOTA MABEL - Leota M. Forbes-Hill of Millville, NB passed away August 23, 2011 at Shannex Thomas Hall in Fredericton, NB. Born at Brewers Mills, NB in 1916, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Hepsie (Estey) Brewer. Leota was a housewife and also employed for several years as postmistress at Millville Post Office. She was an associate member of the Millville Branch 59, Royal Canadian Legion and a life member of Millville Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed her snowmobile and ATV and camping with friends at Mic-Mac C Campgrounds at Cambridge Narrows. In 1982 Leota attended the first Snowarama, an event in support of Easter Seals and took part each year until her final run in 2010. In her 28 years of participating she raised over $200,000.00. Leota enjoyed life to the fullest and brought joy and laughter to her family and many friends. She is survived by her children, Mary Bradley (Joseph), Oshawa, ON, Carolyn Lafreniere (Reg), North Bay, ON and Beverly Forbes (Lise), Millville, NB; her grandchildren, Sylvia Ducie (Godfrey), Scarborough, ON, Tonia Pryce (Glenn), Milton, ON, Shannon Liston (Joy), London, ON, Glen Forbes (Laura) and Peter Forbes (Danielle), both of Fredericton, NB; a granddaughter-in-law, Lois Bradley, Maple Ridge, NB; seven great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, two great great great grandchildren; her sisters, Doris Hanson, Lower Hainesville, NB and Phyllis Morehouse, Zealand, NB; her brother, Leo Brewer (Freda), Brewers Mills, NB; a sister-in-law, Lois Godsoe, Brewers Mills, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Leota was predeceased by her first husband, Herbert Forbes, her second husband, Neville Hill, good friend, Andy Turnbull, an infant son, Glen, a grandson, Dwayne Bradley, a granddaughter, Claudette Wilkins, and three brothers, Gerald Brewer and infants Irvine and Harold.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Blinn officiating. A reception will be held at the funeral home with interment to follow at Hawkins Corner Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Blaney, Clair Knox, Tim Myshrall, Gaylon Lindsay, Randy Myshrall, Ronnie Pond, Gladwyn Lindsay, Glen Lindsay, Doug Phillips, Doug Brown and Sheldon Hill. Active pallbearers will be Glen Forbes, Peter Forbes, Shannon Liston, Glenn Pryce, Charles Lindsay and Mike Flewelling. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Leota, the family has suggested the Hawkins Corner Cemetery or Easter Seals.
