Margaret E. Patterson, age 90, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Thursday, August 18, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Centrevillage, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Babcock) Estabrooks.
Margaret was a great caretaker of friends and family. She often opened her home to those in need and looked after many relatives in their final years. She was very active with her church and always contributed in any way she could. She was the Supervisor of Maintenance at Mount Allison University.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Austin (Peggy), Kitchener ON., Bill (Diane), Point du Chene, N.B., Dale (Carolyn), Sackville, N.B.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters Jean (Doug) Chase, Pugwash, N.S., and Bernice Barclay, Amherst, N.S.; sister-in-laws Jean Estabrooks, Riverview, N.B. and Ruth Estabrooks, Midgic, N.B.
She was predeceased by her husband William; granddaughter Sabrina Patterson; brothers Frank, Ray, Nelson and sister Annie Estabrooks.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville, N.B., (506-364-1300) where visiting hours took place on Sunday, August 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service was held at the funeral home on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 11 a.m., Pastor Morris Mills officiated. Burial followed in the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, N.B.
