Passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 4, 2009 after a brief illness, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his beloved daughter, Leah, who passed away earlier this year and his special and close mentor, Chester MacDonald. Leaving to mourn his wife Patti; his daughter Eva; his mother Mildred; his special aunt Ella as well as many cousins and numerous friends. David graduated from Prince of Wales College, Memorial University and from Nova Scotia Tech where he gained his degree in Industrial Engineering. Upon graduation he worked at the Saskatchewan Research Council in Saskatoon and returned to Newfoundland in the early 1970’s to work at the Newfoundland and Labrador Development Corporation. His last twenty years were spent working at the National Research Council. He was a volunteer with the Crows Nest Archives Association and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Newfoundland. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Wednesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation to follow visitation. Funeral service will be held at the Gower Street United Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road.
