Dan Hiscock

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Daniel James Hiscock announce his passing at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood on August 22, 2011 at the age of 77. Dan was a member of Oddfellows Lodge, Anglican Sides-men, and Local 88 Papermakers Union. Dan retired from Abitibi-Price on March 1, 1990, and came out with the Golden Handshake. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick; mother, Violet; sister, Patsy; and brother, Bill. Dan leaves with fond and loving memories his wife Anne; son Fred (Brenda Strong) of Clarenville; daughter Lorraine (Phil) Haynes of Grand Falls-Windsor. He also leaves to mourn sisters, Barbara (Roland) Whittle of Gander, Bernice (Hal - deceased) Bernstein, Northridge, Calif, Debbie Pardy, BC; brothers, Terry, Mt. Pearl, Bruce(Pat) of St. Georges, ON, David (Margaret) of Grand Falls-Windsor; grandchildren, David (Margot Blackwood) Haynes, Prescott, ON, Mark (Tonya)Haynes, Nikki Little; great-grandchildren Karlie and Lucas Haynes; and a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Joan Antle conducted the funeral service at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church on August 25, 2011. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers were from the Anglican Sidesmen, Roy Earle, Robert (Flipper) Hiscock, David Wells; from the Oddfellows Lodge, Munden Hiscock, Walwyn Blackmore, and Vic Whitten. Honourary pallbearers were Walter Lane, Don Hiscock, Rex Barnes, and Ed Fewer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jim Maidment of Central Funeral Homes.
