Passed peacefully into the arms of the angels surrounded by her loving and devoted family at St. Luke’s Nursing Home, Tuesday, October 6, 2009, Mabel LeGrow (nee Feltham) of Bauline (formerly of Deer Island, Bonavista Bay), age 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Donald in November 1987 and her son Selby in October 1994. Left with the most precious and fondest memories are her daughter Gail, special son-in-law Cyril (Tobin), special granddaughter Natasha (Jeff Renouf) with whom she resided prior to moving to St. Luke's in August 2004; son Donnie, loving daughter-in-law Suzanne, grandchildren: Stephanie, Heidi Tizzard (Jason), Courtney; daughter Doreen, son-in-law Oscar (Mills), grandchildren: Lori Chafe, Dave (Denise), grandchildren: Derek LeGrow, Dawne Grandy (Troy), great-grandchildren: Keegan, Samantha, Leah, Joshua (Alexis); sister Elvie Genge; brother Samuel (Bernice); sisters-in-law: Bertha LeGrow, Ruby Feltham, Stella King, Dora Moore; special niece Louise Steward (Derek); as well as a large circle of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Deer Island on March 6, 1922 the sixth of ten siblings to parents Llewlyn and Drucina. Mom left her caring touch in many communities throughout Newfoundland during her years as a teacher and settled in Bauline where with our father devoted their lives to their family, church and community. Among many wonderful memories Mom will especially be remembered for her wisdom, guidance and unconditional love. Her kindness and generosity, especially to those less fortunate, her sense of humor and pleasant personality and her very strong will to live. We would like to thank the staff who were sincere in caring for Mom during her time at the home. Special thanks to nurses Shallon Lucas and Lynn Anderson. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and from 10-12 Noon on Friday. Funeral Service will take place Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2 p.m. from Bauline United Church, Bauline. Interment to follow in the United Church Cemetery, Pouch Cove Line, Bauline.
