Spurgeon Pollock
POLLOCK, SPURGEON RAE - 1925 - 2011 - Spurgeon Rae Pollock, of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, originally of Salisbury Road and Peoples Park Tower, passed away Thursday, August 25th 2011. Born in Hillside, Albert County, NB, March 19th, 1925, the son of the late Harry and Bessie (Marshall) Pollock. Spurgeon worked at the Atlantic Co-op, retiring in 1990 having worked there for 38 years. He was a long time member of Allison Baptist Church, Salisbury Road. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Pauline (Hicks) a daughter Nancy Lynn Smith of Riverview, two granddaughters, Melanie Smith of Moncton and Stephanie Vautour (Gabriel) of Cap-Pele, NB, and grandson, Troy Steeves of Blackfalds, AB, five great -grandchildren; Jordan and Brandon Steeves of Cambridge, Ontario; Hailey, Danika and Nicholas Vautour of Cap-Pele, NB, a sister Eva Wolfe of Ottawa and a brother Richard Pollock (Sharon) of Elgin, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Judith Anne Steeves (Glenn) a sister Annie Carter and two brothers William and Hillburn Pollock.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 29th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Fair Haven Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 30th 2011 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
