MAILLET, JEANNE (POIRIER) - Jeanne Poirier Maillet, 79, of South Windsor, CT passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at Rockville General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 25, 1931 in Dieppe, the daughter of the late Tilmon and Agnes (LeBlanc) Poirier. Jeanne was the loving wife of the late Alcide Maillet, also from New Brunswick. They married in Canada and raised their family in South Windsor, CT. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her summers in Cap Bimet at the family cottage. Jeanne is survived by her children, Denise O’Neill, Robert Maillet, Linda Wotherspoon and her husband Steve, Lisa Maillet, and Paula Maillet, all of CT. Jeanne also leaves several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jeanne is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Ida) Maillet and Mrs. John (Cecile) Scheidel, and one brother, Edgar Poirier, all of CT. She was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Poirier and Jules Poirier, both formerly of CT, and Paul Poirier formerly of Dieppe. Jeanne also leaves many nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Margaret Mary Church in CT and a private burial will be held in Moncton at the convenience of her family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the ICU Unit of Rockville General Hospital for the love and care they provided for Jeanne.
