Helen Haukaas (Forbes) passed away Tuesday August 23, 2011 at the age of 78. Helen is survived by her daughter Brenda, and sons Kevin (Dana) and Mark. She was the caring grandmother of Travis (Lauren), Troy (Carla), KaLee, Dylan and Meghan, and great-grandmother of Levi. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Forbes and her brother Veryl Forbes. Helen was born in Mortlach, Saskatchewan on December 9, 1932 and raised in and around the area. She settled in Moose Jaw in 1970. Helen enjoyed sports, especially hockey and football. She was an avid Riders fan. The family would like to thank Dorothy for helping care for Mom while she resided at Pioneer Lodge. A private service for the family will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy a memorial donation to Pioneer Lodge, 1000 Albert St., Moose Jaw S6H 2Y2 or the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658, Moose Jaw S6H 7K7 would be appreciated by the family.
