Edward Thomas Collins
Edward Thomas Collins, 81, of Port Elgin, passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Shemogue, N.B., he was a son of the late John and Mary (McGuile) Collins of Ireland, then Shemogue.
Edward was a truck driver for over 20 years. He had a keen interest in people, always managing to keep abreast of the happenings in the community via his telephone buddies.
He is survived by three sisters, Anne MacDougall and Mary Zinck, both of Halifax, N.S. and Geraldine (Vernon) Murray, Moncton; five nieces, three nephews, and several relatives in Ireland and British Columbia. He was predeceased by brothers John and Patrick; sister Rosina Chisholm; brother-in-laws Frank MacDougall, Doug Zinck and Bill Chisholm.
Cremation has taken place under the care of the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (538-2241). A private service will be held at a later date.
