Peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Friday, August 26, 2011, Rhoda I. Bernard, aged 95 years.
Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, on June 20, 1916, daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Fielden) Cobb. Rhoda moved with her family, as a very young child to North Tryon. In 1938 she married Walter R. Bernard of Lower Freetown. They lived for a few years in Halifax, before moving back to Lower Freetown, where they lived for over 50 years, then retired in Summerside in the early 2000's.
Sister of Tom (Marie) Cobb, Hamilton and Eileen (Don L.) Clark, Kensington. Sister-in-law of Edythe Cobb, Summerset Manor, Summerside. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Beatrice MacRae (late Harvey) and Frances Walsh (late Lloyd); brothers, Ralph Cobb, Heath Cobb (late Edna); sisters-in-law, Helen Voutt (late Fred Taylor and late Jack Voutt), Vivian Gallant (late Leroy), Gladys Paynter (late Jack); and brothers-in-law, Donald Bernard (late Amy), Angus Bernard (late Jane and late Norma Jean) and Clarence Bernard (late Bernice).
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Sunday from 1 p.m. until time of funeral in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
