PAIGE, LOUISA MAY - 1917-2011 - Louisa May Paige, 94, of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on August 27, 2011. Louisa was born in Moncton on January 8, 1917, the daughter of George (Guy) and Lydia (Maude) (Frampton) MacNeill. She was an accomplished hairdresser until her retirement; an active member of the Salem Baptist Church (Trustee, Clerk, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher); served as Grand Secretary of the Floral Rebekah Lodge, member of the Loyal True Blue Lodge and The Orange Order; curator of the Steeves Family reunion 1st Beauty Pageant; and was a strong believer in the Foster Care program, caring for many youth over the years. Her passion for sewing, knitting and crocheting was her great pastime. Louisa was a Christian who’s faith was extremely important; was known for her beautiful voice and for singing at the men’s home on Church St as well as entertaining at Dorchester Penitentiary on a weekly basis with the Salvation Army. She will be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness. Louisa will live in the hearts of her family forever. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Peter (Inga) of Riverview, Brian (Wendy) of Hillsborough as well as Eddie Johnson (Brenda) of Albert Mines; four precious grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Turner of Rothesay and Juanita MacLeod (Dick) of Sackville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilford “Ted” Paige (2002); sisters, Alice Vanbuskirk, Martha (Mattie) Horseman, Gertrude Steeves, Geraldine Alward and Connie MacNeill;
Brothers, Everett, Douglas, Allister, Rev Harry and Clifford.
Louisa will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation 12:30 to 2 PM on Wednesday, August 31 2011. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Reverend Carol Mullins officiating. Interment will be in the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. Following the funeral service, the family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the funeral home for further sharing of memories and refreshments.
