FEENER, Myrtle Hester, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point. Born in Innisfail, Alta., she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Florence (Tanner) Feener. Myrtle graduated from the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College and taught in various schools in Nova Scotia for 35 years. She retired in 1974 after 27 years as a teacher in Shelburne Elementary School. A faithful and active member of Jordan Falls United Baptist Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Myrtle was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille, Agnes Jensen and Florence Robertson; her brother, Leonard; her nephew, Frank Robertson; close friend of many years Augusta (“Gus”) Doleman. She is survived by sisters, Mary Marguerite Robertson, New Glasgow; Betty Wentzell, Mount Denson; nieces, Mary Lou Robertson, Halifax; Margo Jeffery, Halifax; Sabrina Rhindress, Fall River; nephew, Edward Robertson, Nine Mile River; many grand nieces and nephews. Funeral took place in Jordan Falls United Baptist Church on August 27, 2011. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Shelburne.
