WESLEY, Alberta Genevieve - 88, of The Elms, Wolfville, formerly of Tideways, Wolfville, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Cambridge, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late George Edward and Ella Mina (Armstrong) Webster. She lived in Cambridge; Stamford, Connecticut; New York and Halifax for 35 years. She returned to Cambridge for 10 years after the passing of her husband and moved to Wolfville in 1989, living at Tideways for the past 20 years. She loved to attend church, enjoying the service and the people. Her main hobbies were knitting and people, especially her family. She showed a continued and abiding interest and affection in all her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. Mom was a people person blessed with a warm, sociable temperament. She had a wonderful sense of humour and welcomed everyone with a cup of tea and something to eat, settling them in the living room or dining room, ready to catch up on all the news. No one left her presence without a hug and a promise to keep in touch. Mom was generous in thought and action, remembering everyone’s special days and attending concerts, graduations, birthdays and Christmas festivities with obvious pleasure. Her family was her greatest treasure and she was our greatest treasure. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Richard) Mosher, Clarence, Annapolis County; Sheila (Reverend Mark) Shaw, Wolfville; a sister, Gladys (George) Perry, Elkridge, Maryland; a brother, David (Alison), Kentville; five grandchildren, Rick Mosher Jr. and Alex Mosher, both of Clarence; Rebecca (Dione) Canning, Windsor; Elizabeth (Adam) Verran, Morden; Grace Shaw, Wolfville; two great grandchildren, Norah Verran and Brielle Canning; sister-in-law, Doris Webster, Yarmouth; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Alfred Wesley (a retired Inspector with the Halifax Police Force); a sister, Greta Donaghy; two brothers, Leander “Bud” and Irwin. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Cambridge Baptist Church, Reverend Doctor Roger Prentice officiating. Burial took place in the Cambridge Cemetery.
