Margaret Lavinia (Miner) Titus, 83, of Centreville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Aug. 16, 2011, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Port Williams, Margaret was a daughter of the late John W. and Winnifred (Davison) Miner. She was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Black River, Kings County, Centreville, and at Digby Neck Consolidated School, Sandy Cove. Margaret was a member of Centreville United Baptist Church and also a life member of the W.M.S. She was church organist and treasurer for many years. Margaret is survived by sons, Wayne (Cathy), Cannan Mountain, Kings County; Russell, Centreville; daughters, Karna (Pat) Wright, Smith’s Cove; Charlene, Halifax; grandchildren, Cindy, Tricia, Nicole, Craig, Lauren and Kyle; great-grandsons, Bradley, Ethan, Marcus, Noah, Owen and Myles; and great-granddaughters, Haley and Emma. Margaret is also survived by a brother, Leigh Miner, Gaspereau, Kings County; and a sister, Joan (Ian) Levy, Bedford. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Loran; infant daughter, Joanne; and a brother, Rev. Eric Miner. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lefel and the nursing staff of the ICU at Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their excellent care of Margaret. Cremation has taken. Funeral service was held Aug. 20 in Centreville United Baptist Church, Centreville, with Rev. John Purdy presiding, assisted by Pastor Mark Cress.
