DUPUIS, OSCAR - 1915 - 2011 - Oscar Dupuis, 96, of Sainte-Marie de Kent passed away peacefully at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Moncton on Saturday August 27th, 2011. He was married to the late Thérèse Daigle who died suddenly on their wedding day, he than lived with the late Philomène Richard (2009) as common-law for forty three years. Born in Notre-Dame on April 25th, 1915 he was the son of the late Maxime and the late Domethilde (Doucet) Dupuis. Oscar was a WWII veteran, and served overseas from 1941 to 1943. He worked mostly as a truck driver, carpenter and a woodsman. He will be sadly missed by his three children; Célestin Richard (Alice), Geralda Maillet (Alvery) of Sainte-Marie de Kent, and Nelda Martin (Edmond) of Saint-Louis, three grandchildren, Dean, Anne and Jason and one great granddaughter, Marisol. He also leaves to mourn his sister Rita Gagnon of Leominster, Mass and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by four sisters, Imelda, Ella, Sr Flora and Lily and three brothers, Aquila, Blair, and Clifford.
Visitations will be held at the Notre-Dame de Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Marie de Kent on Wednesday, August 31st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Thursday from 1 to 2:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Marie de Kent Church on Thursday, September 1st, 2011 at 3:00 pm with interment in the Notre-Dame de Kent parish cemetery.
