Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital early Monday morning, August 29, 2011, at the age of 80 years, Edward Patrick Short was a Korean War Veteran and a sergeant of the Canadian Armed Forces. Predeceased by his beloved son Terrence Edward; father Patrick and Mother Alma Short; Sister Patricia Treanne; and Brother Robin. Leaving to mourn with many happy and treasured memories are his wife Phyllis; sons: Edward Patrick (Connie) and Kenneth James (Claudette Boland); beloved granddaughter Amanda Louise and her mother Donna Short; sister Cherie Hartery; three cherished sisters-in-law: Marie Milburn and family of P.A., U.S.A, Marjorie Jackman and family of St. John’s, and Marian Jackman of Regina, SK; as well as many other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Rd., on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. with cremation to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
