MARTIN, Mary – Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes in Gander, formerly of Brent’s Cove, on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, Mary Martin (nee Butler) in her 87th year. Predeceased by her husband William, parents Bridget and Anthony, sisters Elizabeth, Anne, Angela, Theresa, Katherine, Christina, Marie and Florence, brothers John and Michael. Leaving to mourn and to celebrate her life are her daughters: Clo, Presentation Convent, St. John’s, Mildred (John Dubourdieu) Gander, Bridget (John King) St. John’s, Loretta (Mike McCarthy - deceased) Marystown, Marian (Brian White) Gander, Eileen (Eric Lapointe) Quebec City; sons: Mike (Mary) Whitby, ON., Clarence (Beverly) Baie Verte, Greg (Margie) Moncton, NB, David (Karen) Gander, Felix (Judy) Gander, Bill (Joy) Gander, Charles (Helen) Gander, Neil (Elaine) St. John’s; thirty-one grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces and nephews; sisters: Clo Maloney, Texas, Margaret (Dave Furey) Bishop’s Falls; Uncle Greg (Agnes) Matthews, Brent’s Cove and Aunt Mary Ellen MacIssac, Stephenville. Resting at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander. Visitation Wednesday 7-9 p.m., Thursday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, December 5th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Parish Church, Gander. Burial service and interment will take place from St. John the Apostle Church, Brent’s Cove on Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Church Building Fund in Brent’s Cove.
