MacDONELL, John Allan “Johnnie Mac†– 48, Belnan / Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 with family by his side at the Ottawa General Hospital, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was born July 23, 1961 to Allie and Marlene (Cole) MacDonell. John had a career as a much respected and accomplished heavy duty mechanic and later found a passion in large crane operation, both of which took him on many adventures across the country. He was especially proud of his contribution to the NB/PEI fixed link. He always had an interest in learning and loved to share his newest find with family and friends. John had a tremendous memory and was known as the family story teller. He had a great love of nature and was never happier then when on the river with his fly rod. Regardless of where he was and what challenges he faced, and he had many, he always had a generous and kind heart for all he met and a strong and true love for his family. Besides his parents, he is survived by his much loved children, John, Calgary; Erin, St. Catherines; Tyler, Belnan; brothers Tom (Deen), Upper Kennetcook; Peter (Angela), Gays River; Michael (Natalie), Belnan; sisters, Anna (Andy Kenny), Truro; Peggy (Dan), Red Deer; he also leaves behind his much loved and teased nieces and nephews, Thomas, Jason, Mandi, Isaac, Joey, Holly, Cole, Clay, and Ally MacDonell, Courtney, Andrew, and Haley Kenny, Nicholas and Brian Newell. John is also survived by his companion Susan Ducharme, Ottawa. Visitation 6-9 PM. Friday, in St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church , Enfield from where funeral service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, Father Phil Thibodeau presiding. Interment in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan.
