HICKS, OTIS MAXWELL - 1981 - 2011 - Otis Maxwell Hicks of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the age of 30 years. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick on May 6, 1981, Otis spent his childhood and teenage years living in Irishtown, New Brunswick before moving to Red Deer in 2001 where he was employed with Red Deer Bottling Co. Since childhood, Otis had a passion for bikes and was happiest when riding his Harley. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Derek Hicks, his mother, TerriLynne Burden, his step-mother, Ginette Martin-Hicks, his siblings, Daryl Hicks (Erin) of Calgary, Stefanie Matthews (Tim) of Notre Dame and David Bulmer (Erika) of Shediac Bridge, his nephews, Daniel Petitpas and Jaxon Matthews, his grandparents, Talmage Hicks and Gladys Burden as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, September 3 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. A memorial service in celebration of Otis’ life will take place at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at 1:00 followed by a reception to be held at 297 Salisbury Road. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
