Margaret Arlene Long (Ohm) passed away peacefully at home in the Silver Willow Lodge at Nanton, AB. Marg was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Charles as well as her granddaughter Leanne. Marg and Charles farmed and had an active life in the Mortlach community and in Coteau Hills Bible Church. Mom loved people and this found her active in: Childrens’ Ministries (day camps at Besant Park), Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics, Thunder Creek Home Care Board, IVCF Area Committee, church and community choirs. Mom was known for her love and generosity. Many enjoyed her warm hospitality – the coffee pot was always on! Living close to the Trans-Canada Highway, many a stranger arrived unannounced and were graciously cared for. Mom will be greatly missed by her friends and family: Barb (Floyd) Snyder of Calgary, AB -Jenny (Sean), Karl (Chelsea); Bob (Colleen) Long of Nanton, AB - Steve (Megan), Brad, Megan; Bev (Ron) Romanow of Lumsden, SK - Melissa (Blair); Dave (Gail) Long of Vibank, SK - Will, Ailsa, Graeme; Nancy Cunningham of Sundre, AB -Kristie (Jesse) - Ella, Aiden; Aaron (Chelsea) -Jesse, Jake, Angus; Carol (Chris) Fisher of Lumsden, SK - David, Jill, Becky. Mom has left us a rich heritage in knowing the Lord Jesus. The Celebration of Moms’ Life will be held at the Nanton Baptist Church where she was a member on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
