LANDRY, Muriel Bernice – 58, Amirault’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born August 4, 1953 in Surette’s Island, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Rita (Surette) Muise. Muriel was a homemaker and she was a member of the Indian Sluice Seniors Club, TOPS, the Cursillo movement and she was a member of the former Amirault’s Hill-Hubbard’s Point Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and quilting. She leaves behind her loving husband of 34 years, Melvin J. Landry, as well as their daughter, Renée (Jeff) Pitman, Surette’s Island, and her two beloved grandchildren, of whom she thought the world, Kennedy and Jared. Also surviving is his estranged wife, Pauline, Tusket; her brothers and sisters, Louis (Joanne) Muise, Gavelton; Ella (Lelalnd) Doucette, Sluice Point; Dianne (Jean) Cottreau, Marilyn (Briand) Pothier, both of Wedgeport; Nora (Maynard) Frotten, Port Maitland; Judy Williams (Allan), Surette’s Island; Donnie (Sheryl) Muise, Grand Prairie, AB, as well as many nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, Muriel was predeceased by a son Corey, in infancy. Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with prayers at 8 p.m. at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 5, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Amirault’s Hill, Father Gregory Sampson, c.j.m., officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Tri-County branch of the V.O.N.
