PEDERSON - Elizabeth (nee Richmond) left us on Tuesday September 29, 2009 after coping with ALS, which she was diagnosed with in 2008. She was 54 years of age. She was born in Yorkton, SK on May 22, 1955 and spent her young life on a farm near Wynyard, SK. When she was sixteen she moved with her family to Saskatoon. Elizabeth attended E.D. Feehan High School and then the University of Saskatchewan. She worked for a year as a teaching aid at Feehan and obtained her Bachelor of Education degree. She taught in several communities including Golden Prairie, Meadow Lake, Lancer, Leader and the Wheatland Hutterite Colony. Her last position was in Abbey, SK. She spent some time back at the University taking Special Education classes and spent most of the latter part of her career in this area. In 1986 she married William M. Pederson and they lived in Abbey, SK. She was predeceased by her father, Bob Richmond of Wynyard and Fargal and Cecilian Gleason of Yorkton. She leaves in sorrow her husband Bill; her mother Teresa Richmond of Saskatoon; her brother Bill (Grace) and family of Deep River, ON; her parents-in-law Clarence and Betty Pederson of Abbey; Bill's sister Julie (Greg) Pederson-Grodaes and brothers Clint (Cindy), Robert (Denise) and Doug Pederson and their families; Bill's aunt Ione Pederson; her aunt and Godmother Helen Hunt of Yorkton and her aunt Edna Richmond of Victoria, BC; many nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, students and good friends. She was a loving wife, daughter and sister. Elizabeth was a popular teacher, worked in the community and will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service was held at the Abbey Community Hall on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 4:00 PM with Catherine Christie officiating.
