Helen Mildred Collins
1914-2009
Mildred passed away at 95 years of age on October 5th, 2009, at Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon. She was one of thirteen children raised by John and Bertha Taylor in the Crystal City-Pilot Mound district of Manitoba. She married Ian Campbell Collins at Prince Albert in 1935. Their three children, Barry, Diana and Carol, were raised in Prince Albert. In their retirement years Ian and Mildred made a new home and a happy life on a forest acreage north of Christopher Lake. Mildred is survived by her brother, George Taylor (Doris), of Boissevain, Manitoba, her son, Barry Collins (Shirley), of Saskatoon, her daughter, Carol Burchill (Bob), of Ottawa, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ian, her daughter, Diana Rees, and eleven of her brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Stensrud Lodge for their compassionate care. At Mildred’s request there will be no service. Her ashes will be interred beside Ian’s in the family forest.
