MCDONOUGH, NELLIE MARY
1920 – 2011
It is with heaviness of heart that the family mourns the passing of their mother Nellie (Geneau) McDonough.
God chose Melas and Eugene (Robichaud) Geneau for her parents on August 21, 1920. He blessed her with 8 brothers, Mellet, Carl, Edward, Edmund, Albert, Allison, Archie all deceased, and 1 surviving brother Peter (Aline). She was also blessed by 4 sisters, Mary, Melita, Elsie, Lillian (Irene), all deceased.
She married her husband James A. McDonough (1920 – 1985) on Feb 4, 1942. They were blessed with 10 children, Phyllis (Dick) Foley, James Jr. (Darlene), Marlene (Dave) Long, Frank (Judy), Carolyn (Richard) Mazerolle, Judy (Robert) Randall, Donald (Dennis Johnson), Sandra, Nancy and Peter (Nancy). With 19 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
God’s banquet table is ready, her mansion is complete, he whispered softly to her, well done my good and faithful servant, your work here is done, then he picked her up in his arms and gently took her home September 1, 2011.
Surrounded by her family, it was hard to let her go, but there’ll come a day when we’ll all be together, not by hope but by faith. Until then, love you mom.
Mom made many friends over her lifetime but devoted most of her time to her family.
She is resting at Hogg Funeral services in Minto, Bruce and Gloria Hogg in charge of arrangements. Any donations to the Holy Rosary Church Parish Fund would be appreciated by her family. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral to take place at the Holy Rosary Church, 11:00 AM, Monday, September 5th, 2011, Father Paul Bebodu officiating.
