64, Porters Lake, Nova Scotia, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Twillingate, N.L., he was a son of the late Ernest C. Boone, and A. Audrey Boone (Jones). Chris was an entrepreneur and business leader in the sign manufacturing industry for over 40 years, at E.C. Boone Limited and Day Nite Neon Signs Limited. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman, and was very meticulous about his garden and property at home. Chris enjoyed life to its fullest. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marilyn Boone (Edwards); daughter, Tracy (Glen) Cowan, Porters Lake; son, Chris (Dawn), Porters Lake; special friend, Judy Byrne, St. John’s N.L.; sister, Patricia (Robert) Jenkins, Topsail, N.L.; brother, David (Monica Ivany), St. John’s, N.L.; grandchildren, Robynne, Dawson and Michael; many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. A Reception to follow in the Burnside Room, Ramada Park Place Hotel (240 Brownlow Ave. Dartmouth) Private family interment at a later date.
