Brian Gerard Dolhanty, 68, of Florence passed away Sept. 3, 2011, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Florence, he was the son of the late Stephen and Margaret (Ross) Dolhanty.
He is survived by his brothers, Reg (Rosalie) and Frank ‘Duke’ (Esther); sister-in-law, Yvonne; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Steve, sisters, Rosalind and Dorothy, and his special nephew, Darin.
Brian was employed for many years on the Great Lakes and was an avid horse racing fan.
Special thanks is extended to Dr. Pat O’Grady and Sandra Boutillier for their care of Brian.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, Florence, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bras d’Or. A reception will follow in the Florence Legion.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
