Nixon, Louise Maxine - 86, of Kentville, passed away September 1, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Enos and Mildred (Chase) Bishop. She retired from Maritime Tel & Tel in 1988 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Kentville and the Afternoon and Evening Guilds. She was also a member of the Anglican Church Women, St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Meisner, Shawville, Quebec; Susan (Robert) MacBride, Blomidon; Elizabeth (Colin) Spinney, Halifax; a son, David (Jackie), Coldbrook; a sister, Jean Ross, Kentville; nine grandchildren, Rhonda, Stephen, Kevin, Tammy, Aimee, Matthew, Joshua, Laura and Craig; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Hallet Nixon; an infant sister. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2011 in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville, Archdeacon Lynn Uzans officiating. Burial has taken place in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Parish of St. James. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
