John Samuel Amero, 64, of Digby, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, in Digby General Hospital, Digby. Born in Digby, he was the son of Beatrice (Comeau) and the late Fred Amero. John worked most of his life as a stationery engineer at CFB Cornwallis. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. John loved the outdoors and motorcycles and he also had a special interest in eagles and dragons. John will be missed by his son, Robert (Deanna Robicheau), Digby; daughter, Crystal (Doug) Handspiker, Cornwallis; brother, Floyd (Young Ja), Massachusetts; sister, Susan (Garry) Wamboldt, Bear River; grandchildren, Mark Milbury, Brandi Amero, Alexzander Amero, Patrick Amero, Alyssa Thibault; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Donations in John’s memory may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous Digby County or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
