Dill, Thomas “Tommy” Franklin – 75, Truro, passed away October 12, 2009 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, N.S. after a lengthy illness. Born in Halifax, N.S., December 8, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Rita (Meriggi) Dill. Tom was a retired employee of MT&T after 38 years of service. He was an avid Montreal Canadians hockey fan and in his younger years played in the MT&T League. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rose (Morrisey); beloved children, Randy (Tina, Justin and Naomi) of Mount Uniacke, Radford, Beaverbank, Troy, Edmonton, AB, Rhonda (Glen) Pike, Windsor Junction; grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca; brother, John (Phyllis), Lower Sackville; sister, Violet Jeffrey, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Clara Novelli, Helen Meriggi, Glenna Mercier; brothers, Ernie and Joseph Meriggi, Ronald and Donald Dill; sister-in-law, Lorraine Dill; brothers-in-law, Percy Jeffrey, Frank Novelli, Maurice Mercier. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 7- 9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with a memorial mass to be celebrated with Father Joseph Thomas officiating on Thursday, October 15th at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro, N.S. with a reception following in Campbell Hall. Private family interment will be in Masstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tommy’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
