Dill, Thomas “Tommy” Franklin – 75, Truro, passed away October 12, 2009 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, N.S. after a lengthy illness. Born in Halifax, N.S., December 8, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Rita (Meriggi) Dill. Tom was a retired employee of MT&T after 38 years of service. He was an avid Montreal Canadians hockey fan and in his younger years played in the MT&T League. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rose (Morrisey); beloved children, Randy (Tina, Justin and Naomi) of Mount Uniacke, Radford, Beaverbank, Troy, Edmonton, AB, Rhonda (Glen) Pike, Windsor Junction; grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca; brother, John (Phyllis), Lower Sackville; sister, Violet Jeffrey, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Clara Novelli, Helen Meriggi, Glenna Mercier; brothers, Ernie and Joseph Meriggi, Ronald and Donald Dill; sister-in-law, Lorraine Dill; brothers-in-law, Percy Jeffrey, Frank Novelli, Maurice Mercier. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 7- 9 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with a memorial mass to be celebrated with Father Joseph Thomas officiating on Thursday, October 15th at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro, N.S. with a reception following in Campbell Hall. Private family interment will be in Masstown Cemetery.
