It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and sister, Christine Bateman, on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at home, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Pius and Sadie (MacLean) Hennessey.
Christine is survived by her loving husband, Russell; her son, Russell, Leitches Creek; brother, Tom, North Sydney; sisters, Helen (Ken) Matheson, Sydney Mines, Sarah Walsh, North Sydney, Bernadette, Sydney.
She was predeceased by brothers, Adrian, Pius, Patrick, Charles, Stan, Richard, Edward, and by sisters, Theresa and Lorraine.
There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. from St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney, with Rev. David Luker, officiating.
