Marilyn Naomi MacDonald, 67, Baddeck, died Oct. 8, 2009, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Glace Bay, and was a daughter of the late Gordon and Phoebe Hillier.
She was a member of the Baddeck Hospital Auxiliary and the Baddeck Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her hsuband, James MacDonald; sons, Sheldon (Megan) MacDonald and Stuart (Kelly) MacDonald; grandchildren, Avery and Toby MacDonald.
The family would like to acknowledge the kindness and outstanding support of Dr. Genge, Dr. Chow and Dr. Jabeen and all the staff at the Baddeck hospital. They would also like to thank Dr. MacCormick, staff at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre and MacAskill’s Funeral Home.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family and all of her many friends.
At her request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a committal service is planned for Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Baddeck, with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. The family also requests to be allowed to grieve in private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Breton Cancer Centre or Victoria County Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of MacAskill Funeral Home, Baddeck.
