ROBICHAUD, DOUGLAS E. - (November 23, 1940) - Doug passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Doug was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his family: his wife, Deborah (Harvey), his mother, Helen (Humma), his sister, Jean Whipple, his brothers, Gerald (Shirley) and Greg (Tracey) and his children, Stephen, Daniel (Gillian), Susan Merrithew (Wayne), Darren (Jennifer), Lynn Reid (Alan) and Sally Black (Phillip). He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren, Nathan, Anna, Adam, David, Matthew, Nicholas, Ethan, Cara, Tyler, Carter, Jorja and Cheyanne. He is predeceased by his father, Edward, his brothers, Charlie, Donald (Rab) and his sister, Marjorie London. Doug spent his career working as an instrumentation technician for NB Power at Courtenay Bay. He retired in 1995 and spent the remainder of his days with Deb in his beloved Belleisle where he was affectionately known as the “Tan Man”.
A private family ceremony will be held in Kiersteadville, NB. The family wishes to invite all of Doug’s friends to attend a Celebration of Life to be held at the Belleisle Community Centre, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 7 pm, where he shall be remembered surrounded by the people he loved. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Doug’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital for making him comfortable and helping him feel at peace. Special thanks to all of our friends and neighbors who have been so kind and supportive and to all of the staff of MacDonald Consolidated School. Many thanks for your generosity and your expressions of concern. Doug and Deb appreciate them all.
