Elaine Jamieson Battee, 76 passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada on Sept. 6, 1934. She moved to Connecticut when she was 18 years old. There she met and married her husband of 52 years.
She worked as a travel agent, which allowed her to do one of the things she loved most, which was to travel. Other loves were golf and cards.
Elaine and Ernie retired to Florida 23 years ago and moved to The Villages in 2007.
Survived by her husband, Ernie; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy LaJoie; grandsons, Corey 19 and Casey 16; daughter, Leslie Andre; brother, Charles Jamieson of Canada; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Charlie Nearing of Canada; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jimmy Zegray and MaryAnn and John MacPhee of the Villages.
Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda; sister, Debbie MacEachern and sister-in-law, Marion Jamieson.
Donations can be made in Elaine’s name to the Cape Breton Palliative Care.
