Edwin Backlund
1936 - 2011

Edwin Ralph Backlund passed away at the age of 75 on September 6, 2011 at the Herb Basset Home in Prince Albert, SK. He was one of three children born to the late Jonas Edwin and Ruth Backlund, predeceased by two brothers (Donald age 21 and a baby brother in infancy). Edwin was born on February 27, 1936 in Foxford SK. He is survived by his wife Barb of 52 years and his three children Randy (Julie) Backlund, Kim Short and Terry (Paula) Backlund; his six grandchildren Kari (Scott) Dzialo, Kristin (Andrew) Mason, Nathan and Matthew Short, Mary and Connor Backlund and also two great grandchildren Jaret and Baillie Dzialo. Edwin worked in the carpentry trade for 42 years and his family was always proud of his accomplishments in this regard. Edwin’s sense of humor was appreciated by all and will live on in our memories. There will be no funeral at Edwin’s request. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s research.
