GILBERT, MARY (EMILY) - Mar 12, 1913 –
July 13, 2011 - Emily passed away peacefully in her 98th year, at Delta View Life Enrichment Center, Delta, B.C. on July 13, 2011 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mill Cove, Queen’s County, N.B., daughter of Clarence and Mary Knight. Emily will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1969 and her brothers Harry, Walter, her sister Frances and son Tom. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kathy Burton (Bill), Betty Ekblad (Eric), and her grandchildren, Jeff and Heather, sister-in-law Doris Knight plus many nieces and nephews. She was a kind and giving person always thinking of others. She had her friendly smile right to the end. Many thanks to the wonderful staff of Delta View for their warm and passionate care. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St John’s Anglican Church, Gagetown, or Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Saint John's Anglican Church, Gagetown, N.B. on Sept 22, 2 pm.
